What We Do
Child and Family Solutions is a Child Protection Consultancy based in Bristol, UK, specialising in the Resolutions approach to risk reduction in child protection cases where abuse is denied.
We provide expert witness and assessment services to the Court and Local Authorities, using an approach that builds upon extensive experience in Child Protection work and is informed by a Systemic Family Psychotherapy perspective.

Services Available:
- Risk reduction assessment informed by the Resolutions approach
- Specialising in assessment of families where parental denial of abuse is an issue
- Assessment in family proceedings where there are serious concerns about the future safety of children
- A systemic approach to risk reduction assessment
- Assessment of adults, children, parents, carers, members of extended family and friends as appropriate, in an individual or group context
- For 'stuck' cases, assessment within statutory and legal frameworks of the suitability of parents and families for the safe return of children to their families
The Principal of Child and Family Solutions, Margaret Hiles M.Sc., Dip. SW., CQSW, Cert Man. Org., is a UKCP Registered Systemic Family Psychotherapist and a Member of the Association for Family Therapy, with many years' experience of working with children and their families, and a background of senior posts in Child Protection Social Work.
